A very savoury, medium strength blue with a salty finish, Bass Strait Blue is a blue lover’s delight. It’s named after the body of water that separates Tasmania from mainland Australia.
Did you know? When making blue cheese, the cheese maker aims for an open textured cheese so that the blue veins can easily develop and spread into the nooks and crannies within the cheese.
Top Tip: Savour Bass Strait Blue with brown pears, apples, muscatel grapes and pecan nuts, with wholemeal biscuits or crusty baguette. It’s savoury blue flavour makes it an excellent cooking cheese for pasta sauces, soufflés and salad dressings.
